Mantra4Change, is a 5 year-old Bangalore based NGO working in the field of Systemic Education Transformation. We hold ourselves accountable to the vision of making quality education available to all children, no matter what socio-economic backgrounds they come from. To this end, we partner with schools serving the children from underprivileged sections of our society for a two year period in order to achieve capacity building of school staffs (Administrative, teaching and non-teaching) and improved learning outcomes among students.

Volunteers are required for conducting due diligence on field, for the launch of the Mantra4Change School Transformation program in Andhra Pradesh. Under this role a volunteer will be required to visit schools and collect information for primary research. Mantra will be providing basic training, along with tablets and prepared questionnaire to guide them through this process. The questionnaire will cover both qualitative and quantitative aspects of data required. This will include interaction with different stakeholders in the school premises.

  • Date: Jan 21 to Feb 21, 2019
  • Place: Various Schools in the Districts (Guntur City, Vizag city, Vijayawada only) of Andhra Pradesh
  • Time: Total time required to collect data per school is 25-30 hours.
  • Training: Basic training of 3 hours will be conducted for Assessors before they hit the ground. And ongoing support will be provided over call.
  • Duration: May vary between 2 weeks and 1 month depending on availability of volunteers

Volunteers Required : Madhi Foundation

Madhi Foundation was established in 2016 as a non-profit organisation working in the education sector, committed to the cause of bridging the equity gap in education for children across India. The Foundation draws its inspiration from the Tamil adage, “vidhiyay madhiyaal vellalaam”, which translates to, “you can conquer destiny with intellect (madhi)” Madhi designs and implements large scale programmes on specific areas – content development, teacher training and system capacity building to ensure that school systems (Government and low-fee private schools) are accountable and equitable to all our children.

Madhi Foundation is working on a classroom enrichment programme across 15 schools of the Greater Chennai Corporation. The programme is designed to improve the teaching-learning environment of the classrooms by empowering the teacher with skills and tools required to succeed in the classroom and thereby improvement in student learning.

Volunteers are needed to orient students on using the app for the assessment on a tablet and oversee the app-based assessments in 10 schools for 400 students in order to evaluate level of student learning.

Dates : December 10, 2018 – December 21, 2018 (excluding 15th and 16th of December, i.e. on weekdays only)

Time : 10 AM – 3 PM

Briefing : A step-by-step guide on the day’s activities will be shared. This will be conducted at Madhi’s office premises during the 1st week of December 2018.

Training : A team member from Madhi will be available in order to support the volunteers and troubleshoot issues, if necessary.

Volunteers Required : Annual Garden Fair

The Association of people with Disability PD is organizing its Annual Garden Fair, where different varieties of plants will be displayed for sale. The purpose is to raise funds through the Fair for expenses of the horticulture training program, conducted for youth with disabilities. Support from corporates and/or students are welcome.
The following activities require volunteers to help conduct:
1) Sales
2) Marketing
3) Billing and packing assistants
4) Assistants in support counters
5) Back end and front end assistants
6) Assistants at food stalls
7) Arranging plants, loading and unloading materials and plants
Dates of the event: November 17 (2018) ; December 8, 24, 25 (2018)
No. of volunteers required: 30 volunteers on weekdays and 50 on weekends (minimum 4 hours of volunteering per person).
